Long story short, I GRADUATED!

Uh, just in case, let me introduce myself again for the new readersー I did my four years degree in Japanese University :D (If you are interested in how I got into this uni, you can look here). And alhamdulillah, I finally got my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Electronics Engineering this March 2025.

Honestly, it was just a blink of an eye! 17 years old me would never think of studying abroad, in Japan at that. (Well, now I am a legal 23 years old...) But the God's plan was bigger than mine. I was never an otaku, neither a weeb before, let alone a person who knows much about Japan. It's just that I wanted to learn a new language along the way BUT I never thought that I would need to get her degree in my third language (or we could say forth if you want to consider indonesian too LOL) (It is basically a scam, my friend.)

It is just so funny to think about it again because my high school friends know how much I love studying English, and also English was my all-time fav subject during elementary and high school (real) but despite that, I thought that English was too overrated that I had chosen a country which most of the citizens have low proficiency in that language; Japan. Yes, that's exactly how I ended up in Japan after getting flying colors for my SPM in 2018.

Japan was wonderful, but I would say it's kind of hard to mix in when you're a social anxious person but things do get better every time. It's real, practice makes perfect. I begin to appreciate people's existence better than before. Anyways, here are some pictures from the d-day!

Me wearing Hakama - the traditional clothing of Japanese!

With them Malaysian international students from the same department.

Another picture with Malaysian students from the same batch graduating from the same university.

That's all for now. Maybe in the next post I will share some details about graduating from a Japanese University because well, I think it's quite different from Malaysia University system hahaha. So yep, till then!

Floostar.

(Edward Cullen!)

I still remember very clearly how I posted an entry here regarding some tips on getting scholarship after SPM, and a short sneak peek on how's it like to be attending Preparatory School to go to Japan... and fast forward I am already a fourth-year student here, which means my last year as an undergraduate student. If things go well with my final year project, I will graduate next spring; approximately in February or March 2025.

Honestly saying, I don't know about how university system in Malaysia works, but here in Japan, every university's system is different from the others. To start off, it is common that undergraduate needs at least four years (that's the same with Japan). But we have those requirements which need to be achieved in order to proceed the year of studies. Like for example, in my case, I need to pass Technical Drawing and also Lab Session during my second year to be a third-year student... If I were to fail these two subjects, I shall repeat the subject and unable to proceed to be a third-year student until I pass those. These requirements are actually torturing somehow, but... I must say, fun (hahaha)

Oh, and we need to obtain at least a certain number of credits to be able to graduate, which I guess the same as Malaysia? Though, most of the universities here require their students to obtain like 120-ish credits for graduate. Mine is 124 credits.
    で、無事に4年生になった。
Translation:
So, I made it to the fourth grade.

Glad to be saying that I passed all the required subjects to be entering my fourth year and managed to obtain all the credits needed to graduate except for my research and presentation subject which I need to attend this semester (this year). Hence, my schedule for this semester and next semester will be very loose. But thing is, as I am already starting to do research for my Final Year Project (FYP), I try to show up every day to my research lab even though there is nothing to do on that day. People often address me as a hardworking one but I am doing the bare minimum ??

So yeah. Two months in- it wasn't this busy actually, but I have mid-term presentation in less than two weeks, JLPT (did I mention I'll sit for N1 this July?) in a month, and also busy finding jobs and touching up my resume (??) Surprise !! I think the last one is a bit surprising, to me too because I didn't even dream about to settle down in Japan before. It just came to me like, poof! I woke up a day and decided to give it a try finding job here before actually coming back to Malaysia. Let's see how it goes, though.

Being a fourth-year student in Japanese University means you should already have plans for your future. Either to go for job hunting, or to pursue Masters. For real. Everyone here is busy during their 4th year going for job hunting or taking extra subjects to cover their master's studies later.... Maybe I am a little bit fomo here that I end up decided to go for job hunting too LOL just kidding.

Side note: fomo = fear of missing out

Anyways, I had this conversation with my Japanese friend where she pointed out, "it will be such a waste for you (me) to be able to speak Japanese to this level but going back so soon and forget about this language". It actually hit me hard. I thought about that too. Which also one of the reasons I want to give it a try on finding job here. If I fail to get any offers, I will gladly come back home though hahaha. Why don't we try our luck?

But then, there are still a lot of things to be considered. Especially being away from your family for so long. Not gonna lie, I always make my time to visit them every semester break, but it is just.... being away thousands of kilometers away. So hard, I must say. Also, the loneliness of having less people to talk here. I mean, if we are to compare Malaysians in Japan and Malaysians in the UK.. I must say it is easier to find Malaysians living in the UK than Japan. (correct me if I'm wrong, though). The language... and culture too. But you know, I am up to any challenges, and I think it is better to gain some experiences working here before coming back, serving for my home. Tapi, tengok la macam mana sebab dah start job hunting pun lambat saya pun tak yakin untuk secure job sebelum graduasi huhu

Think I talked too much this night. Wish me luck for my mid-term presentation (I'm going to do it in Japanese hihu) thank you for dropping by!

Have a nice day ahead! Or sweet dreams <3

Yours sincerely, floostar.

Hehe hello everyone, it has been months! My last update was in May 2023 and it's already February 2024; how fast time flies! I have a lot to write but the thing is, it really takes a lot to pour my thoughts here. Anyway, here's a reflection of what have I achieved in 2023. I have always underestimated myself; I mean, all of us tend to think this way. We often appreciate ourselves less, even when we have achieved a lot because we struggle to see our accomplishments from an external perspective. Believe me, if we could view ourselves through the eyes of others, we would realize just how much we have grown over time.

Well, as for me, if I would like to pick up three things which are obvious to me, they would be- running, playing ukulele, and videographing. I kind of developed my interests towards these three things especially last year (2023) and it does amaze me A LOT to see my growth through my interests.

Started off with running, as stated on my previous post (May 2023) I was heading towards 40 km (running mileage) in a month... and by the end of 2023, to be specific October, November and December, I casually hit 100++ km. I know my May 2023 self won't be expecting this but yes, I did it! I slowed down a lot during each sessions and it eventually helped me to be a better runner (sounds cringe but hehe) The furthest I've ran in 2023 is a solid 15 km! And I am aiming to be able to run a half marathon by this summer (manifesting).

Playing ukulele... I actually picked this one up during December 2022 but I kind of practiced a lot too throughout this year, and I am able to play a lot of songs as long as they're transposed into easier chords, and I'll just pair them with suitable strumming pattern. I did struggle in the beginning of 2023 to strum + sing at the same time, but as time passed, I've overcome that hurdle; and now I can strum along while singing with ease HEHEHEHE

The last one is quite funny though about how I suddenly have the urge to record things. Nope, I have always been recording things since forever but 2023 is PEAK. I learned to especially "produce" cinematic kind of look in my videos. Also, a little bit of color grading though I only use Capcut. I used to colorgrad on Adobe Premiere Pro but I kind of leaning towards mobilegraphy so I want to minimize transferring time hence I do most of my work on solely my iPhone. If you're curious and want to check them out, I've shared some on my YouTube channel, under the name floostar. Feel free to take a peek ><.

Looking back at these things, I realized that I have actually did something in 2023.. And I am eager to be better in everything I do. Here's to striving towards a better self!

I think that's all for now, hope you guys can see and appreciate your achievements too; because achievements are still achievements, big or small! Till next time x

Yours sincerely, floostar.

Hello there! A little update of life, am currently a third year student in uni and this year isn't the same like previous years; I was busy collecting credits. But now, there are just some credits that I have to obtained in order to graduate so I have more time to spend with myself every day. Like, the most subjects I have in one day is only four- which is Thursday, and the rest will be like one or two subjects in each day, hehe. Couldn't ask for more, this is the most ideal timetable I've ever arranged in university life.

Talking about more time to be spent with myself, I am currently in a phase of having an obsession towards increasing jogging (or maybe running) mileage. I started to consistently jog this year by the way. But I didn't have chance to jog when I was in Malaysia during March huhu hence the monthly mileage was 0 km. Proceeding into April, fasting month- only a few km but it is always better than 0, right? May is my peak! Currently at my 39th km, and still have three days left to enter June. Maybe I'll hit 40+ km...

apps: Nike Run Club

I don't really have "realistic" goals to be consistent in jogging. People often go out jogging to lose some weights but the thing is I am already so petite and small that I don't think that it's good to lose some weights hahah. But I realized that I love to connect with nature, explore my neighborhood, so I think those will be enough to keep myself consistent going out for jogging. As a beginner, I started off with 1-2 km before and now I can jog for 6 km without taking a break. I am aiming for 10 km without break this year though.

Also, I don't really post to public but these days I've been into trying to do cover songs on ukulele. My favorite one so far- Count on Me by Bruno Mars. Because of its tempo and I like singing happy songs on the uke. For sadder song... I would go with Indonesian song; Bukan Salah Jodoh. I've been picking up on uke since December 2022, and till now I am familiar with almost 10 chords I guess? And I'm able to strum the most basic strumming pattern and most of the songs can be played with this, Island Strum! :D

May is good. More time spent outside, more time spent on uke, and also more time spent with friends. Not to be cringed but I am appreciating those time I am having with my friends *peace*. To recap, May is full of activities during weekend; sometimes we watch movies, played bowling or maybe karaoke, and then taiikukan session (read: play badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc). I love this.

taiikukan session. photo credit to kak tyra :)

And I hope, every month in this year will be like May.... I will be missing May so much. Thank you for being so enjoyable <3

Hi fellas! It has been a long time, huh... I've always wanted to write more in this space but I just don't have the urge to spend my time here. I don't really care if people pay attention to my writing though, in fact, I would be really humbled to the earth (read: shy) if those people in real life found me ranting here because I think my writing just doesn't reflect who I am in reality. Well, if you are one of my mutuals or we had met before, just keep reading, don't tell me anything or, let's pretend that irl me isn't the same person haha.

Life is just great lately, and I've spent most of my leisure time watching TikTok as I am currently on my semester break. If you are on TikTok too, you will understand how TikTok's algorithm works, and fun fact! My For You Page (FYP) isn't fixed to any... Sometimes, it'd be Japanese content, or maybe some Jedag Jedug rempit content :') And lately, most of them will be English content. I am not complaining though, as each of those gives me input, and helps me reflect on who I am. As for the answer to the post title,

Life is about creating yourself, not finding yourself.

I discovered this on some random comment on TikTok posts, and BOOM! automatically fell in love with this quote.

The point is, I want to highlight the former of the sentence— "creating yourself". As I got older, there are questions (trust me, it's always the simple ones) that keep bothering me because I don't have the answer to them. One of them is when they ask you about your hobby or maybe what you do when you are free. If I were younger, I could just tell them that I read novels; fictional, romance, supernatural-themed. But oh well, things changed, I rarely 'touch' novels now.

On the other hand, I do a lot of activities during my free time. Like, during summer (highlight: hot and sunny weather) I'd go jogging, walking around my neighborhood and also a little bit of skateboarding, play sports, camp and enjoy waterfalls. Or maybe winter, I do enjoy snowboarding especially. Or, talking about at home, sometimes I do read, write bullet journals, study or play my ukulele, or even edit some random videos I take when I travel. The thing is..... my hobby isn't fixed to one JUST LIKE MY FYP which had led to me being an average person with no 'stand-out characteristics'. This is how I see myself; I admit that I can do a lot of things but I am excellent at none.

I do feel insecure and anxious being around those who have passions, are excellent at something and have clear visions of their life considering that I am all the opposite. It'll go like, "why am I good at none?" "how to stick to one and excel in it?" etc. But then, as I came across this quote, I realized, life is all about creating myself. "Maybe I am not the one who is specialized in one thing, but I can do a lot of things. I don't need to be like others, I can be myself." Maybe I can just say, "I do a lot during my leisure time" and not be insecure about it. This is my identity, I chose to be like this, they can't say otherwise, right?

Well? I could just say that, but deep down, I still have the urge to create an identity that makes me more visible to others. Not for impressing others (but if it does, well, good though), but for my own satisfaction... It's just my mindset that being extremely good at something will be a good identity instead of can do anything but excelling at none. So yea, I'll try my best to create the best version of myself for the sake of my future (; Toward a better self!

Side Notes: Harry Potter also chose to be in Gryffindor although the Sorting Hat had also offered Slytherin... I can choose too :p

It's almost winter and I'm freezing (not yet till death, at least.) But right now, it is currently raining outside and the weird thing is, the rain doesn't make it cooler, but it makes it warmer. Usually, around this week, nights here would be around 3-5 degrees Celcius; but tonight, it is differentー12 degrees Celcius. Oh yeah, it is already December.

Honestly, 2021 is indeed like a roller coaster to me. Too many things happened, I felt like they had happened years ago but actually they're all in the same year. From graduating prep school, waiting for the university admittance for degree result, entering university and having online classes for one semester, moving into Japan, and currently finishing my second semester for my first year here.

January- February.
I must say 2021 really taught me to not rely on others; to move on your own. When I was in the last semester of my prep school, I did almost all thing along. I remember having a kind of not-so-called "Motivation Day", (at least what they called) where everyone needed to make a group presentation, and yes it was splendid. Some even performed musical theatre, dikir barat, and sort of things like that. So naturally everyone will take pics as memories at the end of the program and that was what they didーtook pictures together with other group members and all, had chit-chats and there was me, all alone. I tried to find anyone who was free that time to like, greet them? To talk about how great the day was? But I couldn't find any. I decided to go back into my room and walk alone, hahaha no worries, I already got used to it.

Due to Covid-19, as we all know there was a time that we couldn't even go back to our campus around 2020(?) and actually that was the "turning" point when I realized that I almost have nobody to pour things out. I mean like, yes I have this kind of small circle like if I want to share about this thing I'd go to this person, if the other thing, I'd go to another. But it was like seasonal, and also I'm the type of person who easily gives up on another person so I'll just go and walk away. I know it suuuucks, and I admit it. My ego is higher than Mt. Fuji, I had a hard time asking questions to people regarding things I don't understand well in my studies. But still, I made it. I graduated from the prep school; a journey of learning Physics, Chemistry, Maths in Japanese and Japanese Language itself. I did it.

March.
I think my result was average, not so bad. But it wasn't that good to be accepted into my first-choice university in Japan. Yes, I managed to enroll in my second-choice university, but I think I got scammed. Everyone who's close to me should know that I have been longing into studying Information Technology, which was why I applied for OOOO University as my first choice; because they offered Cyber Security. And it turned out I got rejected and I guess my luck was bad, I needed to change my "field" into Mechanical Engineering. I know, it is hard especially for a girl. The worst case is, I don't even like Physics (but I do enjoy its existence though,....)

April- September.
There are 7 students from Malaysia along with me enrolled in this university this year. Haters would say, "Oh, you should be grateful. You'll have so many friends there, you won't be lonely." Sike. All of them ARE BOYS, who I barely talked to even during my prep school. But of course, we're good good, but it is just like, you know, as my ego is higher than Mt. Fuji, so yep, it is hard for me to reach out for them. Oh, and a girl too, but that is another case. She's in another department, though. So I spent the first-semester studying engineering in the Japanese Language at a Japanese University, I struggled a lot to be honest. My mind was in Japan already but my body was yet still in Malaysia. If you're wondering why, it's because until now, Japan has not opened its border for foreigners yet, but since our countries have like that kind of "diplomatic relationship"? we're finally able to enter Japan starting our second semester. Yay, what a relief.

October- now.
I'm hanging in there, don't worry. The good things still happen to me even though I barely make Japanese friends here because I only attend online classes. But thanks to the International Centre's Club, I made some but obviously they aren't from my department, barely in the same batch like me, but I'm beyond grateful for that. Most of them are seniors (if we're talking about the year in uni) but they're mostly around my age; 20 and 21. So, I think it'll take some time to fully adapt to the current situationーliving alone in a country you've never been to before, and they're using a language which you just learned a few years ago, lol. Honestly speaking, I feel like a real adult, taking care of my meals by myself, having my own apartment, saving up electricity because I'm afraid I'll be broke to pay the bills, and all. Pray for me, I hope it'll end well.

Thank you for reading, hope you are enjoying your 2021 too :)

Hello, it's me again~! Aaaaah it has been a month since I moved into Japan. How fast time flies?? I remember being so nervous to settle all the documents needed before my flight... And 16 days quarantine in Chuo-city, Tokyo. And then moving into my [6-months-apartment] near my campus! Honestly, it was really challenging because, in this area, my batchmates and I are the only Malaysians (we will move into a new area, same with our seniors after 6 months, which is why we'll stay here during this period only).

Oh, actually Japan's border hasn't opened yet for foreigners and also international students, but since Japan and Malaysia have a diplomatic relationship, we're allowed to enter Japan with strict control from the government. Like, we spent almost 5 hours at Narita Airport because we needed to attend all the checkpoints for people who come outside from Japan. I think there were 8 checkpoints.....? Which include document-checking, saliva tests, installing applications needed and immigration checks.

It was tiring though, but I think it is actually a great experience.
[The airport vibes at Narita Airport lol]

This is how it looks like! My room was at floor 10 btw

16 days quarantine! Was super lonely. I didn't get to lepak with all my friends and just stayed in the room. The food was prepared by our sponsor so we didn't have to go out to get our food; they were sent right in front of our hotel rooms' doors. (I'm grateful for this) The room was quite spacious for one person to stay in, and the facilities were tip-top. TV, bathtub, hairdryer, microwave, kitchen, washing machine and dryer―I felt like at home!

I didn't really feel homesick at that time because the food was prepared by Malaysian cooks, so they still had Malaysian vibes. Nasi goreng, nasi putih ayam kicap, roti canai.... uh. But the most shocking thing that I still can't accept until now is that Japan is only one hour ahead of Malaysia but the day and night rotation is faster. Subh prayer now is at 4.30 am, and by before 6 am, the sun already rises. The same goes for the night, Maghrib prayer here (Japan) is around 5 pm, Isha' is around 6.30 pm. There were times that I "accidentally skipped" the prayer time though.... 😐

Not to forget I did experience my very first EARTHQUAKE during quarantine OMG, yes AND IT WAS ACTUALLY QUITE STRONG; about 6.0 magnitude. 7th October 2021, it was at 10.40+ pm and I was doing my work when suddenly I felt like my table swayed a little bit. I thought it was just a small earthquake but it got stronger and at one point I felt like riding a 6D seat in a horror cinema (obviously because I sat on the chair lol) But since I came unprepared, I didn't know what to do😓 I just sat on the floor because I didn't sure if I should sit under the table or not haha. Everyone panicked at that time and messages kept coming through WhatsApp (haha). Luckily everyone in my hotel building was safe.

So, that's all for now! I'll continue later in next post, where I started living on my own!

Ciao, buongiorno! (Hello, good morning!) /or good afternoon, evening, night.....

I've been busy relaxing lately because it's still summer break for me, and I will start a new semester in approximately two weeks from now. I'm still waiting for the embassy in Tokyo to contact us whether we can or not to enter Japan by this end of the month. Everything will go well, hopefully!

So, I recently turned 20 on 11th Sept. It was splendid, I guess. I received a lot of loves, long-a*s appreciation texts that I really love to read, and had a small celebration with my little family. I meant, it was my best birthday ever after pursuing higher education. And it was my first time too celebrating it with my family because I used to study in boarding school, and then went straight into university, which means I had been celebrating my birthdays with my high school or univerity friends.

Not to forget I think I made new Japanese friends too (??) Well, as Japan's timezone is GMT+9, and we're GMT+8, they are ahead by one hour. And this one friend of mine literally wished before 12 o'clock in Malaysia through Line because it's already passed 12 in Japan. Aww, she's so preciousー she even helped me a lot in studies. With that, I guess she's the first wisher? I actually didn't expect that honestly, because we didn't talk much during our summer break. I still appreciate it though, thank you :)

(Translation: Fatin, it's your birthday today?? Congrats! It's still corona and we can't meet each other yet, but we're waiting you to come to Japan and join us for classes. May you have a great year ahead)

And I kind of received some parcels and deliveries for my birthday from friends (And four freaking bouquets from family lol) hahah, thank you for making me blessed. Although I feel like am far away from my friends lately... The fact that they did put effort to make me happy on my birthday, I'm more than grateful and couldn't ask for more. Even if they just sent me simple birthday wishes, even a birthday sticker, it really made my day. Oh and I noticed this year I think it's a new trend where people give songs recommendation during my birthday, and I think they're so sweet :(
"Walaupun kita tak selalu berborak, tapi, aku nak cakap, I am happy and proud to see you have come this far, ..." ーMyshoe.

Above all, I think it's important to realize that even if someone do not wish you for your birthday, it doesn't mean that they don't care about you. People are just too busy with their lives, and we all have our own priorities. But just to keep it to yourself, people do care about you. When the time comes, they'll show. (Or maybe not, lol). So, I hope this year will be a better year for me, you and us!

Thank you for spending your time here! Take care, till then!

A semester passed. A year has two semesters in total, there are 4 years to complete degree. Each semester has like 4 months. Oh don't mind me, I'm just counting days to survive. With covid-19 around, it feels suffocating. I used to be excited to experience studying abroad, but now it feels somehow burdening. Especially when you're learning science subjects in your third language. I'm still stucked in Malaysia, because Japan has not open their border for foreigner yet. Of course I can't blame Olympics for happening as it is important for their economy. Maybe it just happens at the wrong time, I guess.

So, yep! Things happen. My first semester in summary, was like a roller coaster! Starting from my entrance ceremony, I was so sad because I couldn't meet other universities mates. Of course I was excited too as an international student😜 Long story short, these days, there is this one "culture" where Japanese find their universities friends on Twitter using some kind of hashtag #春からOO大学 which means [#OOUniversityFromSpring]. But what's weirder, most of them will make new accounts just for finding uni-friends, but, by staying anonymous. Yes, ma'am yes, if in Malaysia, we often want to stay away from our uni-friends, but in this situation, they are on the other side.

And then, a day after ceremony, I already attended our classes through Zoom. I was given like three weeks (?) to decide what course I'll be taking in the semester to collect credits. There are subjects which have 2 credits, and also 1 credit. I took 15 classes/ subjects in total for the first semester. I'm not sure about how Malaysia universities' credit system but this is how it sounds like in Japan.

TMI: So this is how my schedule looks like (don't judge my Excel timetable haha). The white ones are the core (must-sit) subjects, the coloured ones are additional subjects.

Throughout my first semester, doing assignments alone isn't helping at all. I have literally no one to discuss with, especially when I am the only Malaysian student in my class. My other Malaysian-mates are in other classes though. There are a lot of things that I need to check, confirm, re-study the materials given, understand the question and solve. Wow, I've did this far. I did it, even alone. One of my flex, I must say. Despite of having continuous breakdowns, I managed to submit assignments before the deadline :D

Japanese friend? Who's that? Just kidding. Of course I managed to make some friends. Or at least, I consider them as friends. Like, maybe...one? Who I can ask about what's happening and so on but I think there's still barrier between us. As an introvert, making friends is really hard. I have to admit that there are a lot of chances to talk in breakout rooms during classes, but they'll be talking all in Japanese and I think my Japanese level isn't that advanced to speak comfortably with them. It's just, I can understand about what they're talking to some extent, but I can't reply freely what's in my mind. Some of you all might want to say "just talk, they'll understand your situation", oh okay, I don't even have any ideas what to talk about. Introvert things. I can only imagine situations, like writing in this blog, bestie :)

Kind of glad that this semester has come to its end, and I'll be having about 2 months free before continuing my second semester on October. And also, I hope we'll be able to enter Japan real soon because I just can't keep up online lectures haha. Thank you for reading, have a nice day ahead! <3

It has been such a long time since I posted~ I'm back haha. It is just that I am too busy with life, especially I just enrolled into university this year for my degree. Yep, it is kind of late because usually '01 liners who pursued foundation after SPM will start study for their degree like last year(?) I guess so. But in my case, I pursued foundation in Japanese Preparatory School/ Programme for almost two years, which explains why I started my degree life later than the others.

Anyways, I'm thinking of writing in this blog with *more* proper, like putting my sentences in obvious paragraphs ?? And towards English/ Malay/ Manglish essay writing style!! Oooof....

For those who are curious, "Is there any Japanese Preparatory School in Malaysia?" Yes, yes, yes, in fact there are a few of them. If you just graduated from high school (SPM leavers), want to learn Japanese Language seriously, or you want to enter Japan University pursuing engineering or science technology major/ stream, you can do more researches on  Ambang Asuhan Jepun (AAJ), INTEC College, and MJHEP. And, there is also Pusat Bahasa Teikyo (PBT) where you can learn in science social stream. And proudly to say that, I graduated from Ambang Asuhan Jepun, University Malaya early in this year hehe. Yaaaay!

This post is dedicated for those who want to challenge themselves to enter this preparatory school/programme.

Side Note: These institutions are mostly applied through scholarship programme, so if you are interested, you can read my other post about the related scholarship> here.

I enrolled here in the middle of May 2019 and graduated around February 2021; do your maths! What do we study here? Okay, we have 4 semesters to pass in total. For the first semester, Japanese Language will be the main focus to all students, which means most of the lectures will be Japanese Language related lectures. During this semester, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths are still taught in English so dont worry too much, dear kouhai (junior)~ If you pass the first semester examination, you will be allowed to proceed to the next semester. However, if you didnt manage to reach the minimum grades, you will need to sit for a retest which is usually more difficult, and if you pass this test, you can proceed.

You will start to learn Chemistry, Physics and Maths in fully Japanese in Semester 2. Of course, there are a lot of things to be remembered but with the help of sensei (lecturers) and a little effort, you will easily remember those things! (Not that easy but......)

The everyday-schedule is quite packed too, and I must say that only those who are willing to sacrifice will survive AAJ. We have full classes from Monday to Friday: 8am till 5pm, and if you are 'lucky' enough, you will need to attend extra classes after 5pm. Most of extra classes will usually end at 6pm. There are also some cases where the sensei organized extra extra classes for those who volunteer to join during Saturdays. It depends though.

Students will sit on EJU (idk what the term means) when you are in Semester 3. Basically, this is one of the most important examinations for Japanese Preparatary Programmes. I am not sure of MJHEP and INTEC College, but AAJ and PBT students, all of us sit for this examination. It is an examination where all of the questions are of course in fully Japanese; Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Japanese Language subjects. The questions are actually almost the same level with what Japanese high schools students are learning. And I have to remind you here, that Japanese people's point of view/ way of thinking are a little bit complicated mendokusai different from how we usually think. The interesting one is, you wont know how they evaluate your marks, the marks are just there when you receive the result (haha). Also, this test is required to enter Japan Universities, so do your best!!

And then, Completion Test (wei idk what is it in English but it is 修了試験 in Japanese) before you graduate. Oh, and you cant graduate if you dont pass this exam lol. This examination is made by the sensei so it is based from the syllabus no worries!! So, if you think you didnt score well in EJU, you need to study well and pass this exam to fly to Japan. (I know there are too many examinations but work hard ye T^T)

So, those are like sneak-peak to the life of AAJ hehe. What I can promise you if you enter these programmes after SPM, you will be OK (I am not brave enough to say fluent, but you'll be OK) in Japanese, like can write reports in Japanese, and!!! Watch animes without subtitles!!! Communicate with native Japanese people!! Haha. That's it for now. I want to write longer but I am too lazy. See you soon~!

Side Note: Pardon my English usage, I know the sentences may be weird sometimes maybe I am being japanized, that's why TT

Sincerely,

Bismillahirahmanirrahim. Oh hello. I think it has been such a looong time since the last time I updated this blog. I was really sure that I wasn't going to be "that" busy when I enrolled in university, but..... yeah. There are quite number of posts that I've been keeping in drafts but I haven't finish writing them all haha. Truth to be told, RMO sucks. Anyways, despite of being so busy, I have to admit that I love being at home. There's no pressure compared to the life in college- seeing those powerful intelligent friends studying lol. But the thing is, it is really hard to study through online as I tend to be less focus... I hate myself for real huh.

So, it is already June! I had my holiday break at the end of February, so I guess I've been staying at home for 4 months?? This is amazing :o Second longest holidays I've ever had. Honestly, I can't recall what I do or what is the history of my life that happens in 2020. It just passes really quickly. Or maybe I really didn't do any particular things.

And now, I have been attending online classes for almost 3 months, and surprisingly, I am still alive. But with scars and stress that keep coming endlessly, haha. Well, there's some things that you must prepare in order to survive online class. (like me?)

Get yourself a laptop and a stable internet connection.

I must say that without my precious laptop that I had barely touched during my first sem, I will be super stress now. And internet connection, it's better if you own an unlimited connection one.

Make a to-do-list!

Take at least 5-10 minutes everyday to plan your day- I write them on my laptop's sticky notes so that I can check them everytime I go online yih. So much help for that!

Do things at your study space

This one plays a big roll for me. When I do things at your study space, like surfing Internet for socmeds and all, I tend to be like "Oh why not spend like a few minutes or spend a little time to study? (alang- alang dah go online tu kan)" AT LEAST YOU DID SOMETHING AT THE END OF THE DAY auch.

That's all, I guess for now. Talk to you later!

Assalamualaikum to all Muslim readers.

It is said that Prophet Mohammed once spoke, "When the month of Ramadhan starts, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained."

Ramadhan is a Holy month for Muslims where they fast during the daytime. During this Holy month, Muslims do not gulp down even a sip of water during the daytime and dedicated their daylight hours to abstinence, charity and faith. They only eat and drink anything after iftar (sundown), which shows an incredible feat of self-discipline in them, Fasting benefits us and the same has been mentioned in the Quran:
“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you. so that you may learn self-restraint. Quran 2:183”
May this Ramadhan be the best one yet. May Allah bless and protect us from all sins✨

Ohhhh hiii everyone. So here is another interview experience to be shared, yezzaa. I am grateful enough that blogposts have helped me much throughout post spm especially in applying scholarships....(I mean it.) so I'm going to do a pay back thing! Hahaha!

I actually applied for JPA scholarship which is JKPJ programme, but then when I saw schoollah tweets explaining what's the best, I quickly cancelled and applied for JPA MARA. It's still under JPA though, but the name MARA makes it as our privileges (thanks god). Anyway, I applied for engineering programme to Japan.
First thing first, let me recap what actually happened before the interview day.
March 14th, 2019: *result day
March 16th, 2019: applied for JPA MARA
April 1st, 2019: surat panggilan to SAC

So basically I had like 9 days to prepare for the interview session. To be frank, I was really nervous and afraid because this was my very first interview in groups. I hate the fact that my very humble ass doesn't know how to stand out during grouping interview, hahahaha. Starting on that day onwards, I started to search all around the Internet world to read past experiences from our seniors. Guess what????? 99.9% of them were actually asked about the current issues that were happening in the country that time (haha). Phewwww, that made me more scared tbh, as someone who only know "the surface" and not that deeeeep about current issues. I'll give you the links because I know you would want to read about them too😁

2018 : Meeya Licious
2017 : (I couldnt find any sorry!)
2016 : Story Time | Fearless | Chronicle of Life | Arista Bucks

And that's the starting point where I started to read about the current issues like Sultan Brunei, Tabung Haji and also Brexit. HA HA. Am not joking, I even remembered the exact number of divident doh. So, my iv date was at 10th, and some of my friends already went for the iv at 8th and 9th. I took the opportunity to ask them about what question that the panels had asked (I was just curious, that's not cheating ok). One of them told me that he had been asked about the sultan's name (weh i don't know if he pranked me or what since we're not that close). And the other one told me they did ask about which part in Upin Ipin movie that uses AI and blablabla.

April 14th, the dead day.

I woke up really early this day as my house is considered far from UNITEN. With all the jammed too,,,,. And I reached there like 7.40 a.m.. There were so many people that time. We had to wait at the ground floor before we did our registration. At 7.55a.m. like that, we were allowed to enter the lift to floor 4 which was the interview place. Friendly reminder: if you left your bottle at home, there's this one place beside the lift at ground floor where you can get your 600ml mineral water for RM1 :D

The first thing I did when I reached the floor was,,, I searched my name at the board and memorized the number beside it which was 15. (Or you can simply take out your phone and capture it. Easy.) And then took a borang from one of the pegawai JPA and entered the main room for taklimat. Anyway, there will be two rooms, first one is for Kelompok 1,2,3 and the second one is for Kelompok 4, 5, 6 so make sure you enter the right room! HAHA. After a short brief, we had to register/ tick for our attendance (what i meant by tick is YOUR SIGNATURE OK) and then one more briefing.
YOU DON'T NEED TO PASS YOUR RESUME TO THE PANELS, THIS IS NOT A JOB, they said
They explained about how the interview would be conducted and all. If you have any questions, you can ask during this time. So actually, the number 1-10 in each kelompok will be interviewed first. Each kelompok has its own room. The higher your name in the list, the faster you will be interviewed ok. And basically 1-5 is in a group and the rest in a group. If the 1-5 attend to the bm session first, the other 6-10 will attend the english session first. Each session will be up to 30 minutes and after that switch rooms. And then the same thing goes to number 11-20.

As I was number 15, I really didn't expect that I would be in the first 10 people. (it was 11 actually) And then when my name was called by the pegawai, I walked out the room and saw 5 people already lining up in front the room. I was like........seriously? It's my turn now? THE FIRST ONE??? HAHA THIS MUST BE JOKING although I knew that it was not a joke lmao. We didn't even know each others' name and suddenly had to be interviewed for bm session.

Then, we walked into the room and the six chairs were actually like 50 metres from the door..... so far, I know. There were two panels (both ladies) at that time, and the gave us two topics for us to present. The topics were "Saya Bangga Menjadi Anak Malaysia" and "Kemiskinan Punca Gejala Sosial". We had to choose only one topic and were given 5 minutes to discuss LOL. Anyway, we actually discussed more than 5 minutes because the bell rang twice haha. Then we presented about the topic and had sesi soal jawab after that.

After that we walked out from the bm session room, we had to wait outside the english session room like 5 mins??? There was where we started to know each others' names lol. And then we entered the room. Don't forget to smile ok! And greet the panels too! During english session, there were also two panels who're soooo friendly! Soo, some of the questions they did ask to our group members were :

1. Introduce yourself. (+ what course did you apply, why do you think you deserve this scholarship)
2. If you are given this scholarship and already @ oversea that time, and then the allowances are given a bit late, what would you do?
3. If you are in love with this pretty/ handsome mat salleh, what would you do as a Muslim?
4. If one of your friends ends up going to clubs etc etc, how would you advise him/ her?

Anddddd that's it. No current issues HA HA HA HA MY LIFE IS TOTALLY A JOKE BIHHH. Extra reminder: for question 1, the panels would ask like "okay, start from number 9, to 15". and then "okay start from number 15 to 9" and there will be also like "okay number 11, please give your opinion" SO PLEASE BE ALERT ALL THE TIME 😬

My awesome groupmates uwu

Overall, our iv session as the first group went well, I guess? But I seriously can't predict anything right now. What can I say is, GANBATTE EVERYONE!!! *inserts clingy meme*
